Welcome to Forgotten Top 40!

Top 40 radio has been the home to many classic songs over the decades: "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "What's Goin' On," "Heartbreak Hotel, "Billie Jean"...and it has also seen its fair share of forgettable, obscure cuts. For every "Born To Run" or "Hip Hop Hooray" there was a "Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)" or "Dunkie Butt." Some of those songs faded into pop culture oblivion with good reason, but some deserve dusting off every now and then. With this blog I hope to introduce you to some songs you've never had the pleasure of hearing before, or maybe re-introduce you to that song you got stuck in your head one afternoon in tenth grade.

This blog will span the entire rock'n'roll era (1955-now) and cover everything from rock, pop, funk, and soul to hip-hop, heavy metal, glam rock, jazz, and everything in-between.

I'll be updating frequently, so stop by to discover those rarely heard gems that, for one brief moment way back when, caught America's ear.

Enjoy!
